Reading became the rainy-day distraction that sparked her love of fantasy and a way to immerse herself in viewing words of text on pages to take her away on adventures and to dream of the visions the books portrayed. Writing was a secret passion of hers, starting with small plays, poems, and stories. When she became a mom, reading books and telling made-up stories to her children was her favorite and most memorable time spent with her boys.
